ELECTRIC MOTOR PROTOTYPING.
CUSTOM FABRICATION OF ELECTROMECHANICAL SYSTEMS.

Who we are:

Dimagnetica LLC is a company that supports academia in fabricating custom-designed electric motor  prototypes to validate research ideas.

We specialize in fabricating various types of electrical machines, including synchronous, BLDC, induction, switched-reluctance, transverse-flux, and more, tailored to your specifications and preferences. Our expertise extends to utilizing advanced materials such as Hyperco 50 steel, laminated magnets, and integrating embedded magnetic flux and temperature sensors.

For each design, we also provide cooling systems and housing solutions to enhance your prototype's performance to a more advanced level.

Our clients are academic universities worldwide represented by students, professors, and researchers who need to build electric motor or generator prototypes to validate their research. Among our clients are:

  1. University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA)

  2. University of Pittsburgh (USA)

  3. KAUST (Saudi Arabia)

  4. University of Vigo (Spain)

...and others.

What We Offer:

We build even the most complex motor designs with high quality, precision, and at significantly lower prices compared to market standards. Our capabilities span from tiny motors under 1 W for medical applications to large 100 kW motors for industrial applications. We collaborate with various suppliers of materials, permanent magnets, and sensor technologies to meet the unique prototype needs of our customers.

Advanced Modeling and Analysis

Before fabricating a prototype, we apply advanced modeling to verify the motor's performance in advance, ensuring thermal, electromagnetic, and mechanical compatibility. Upon request, we provide the results of the analysis to the customer, which can later be used in their report writing or other documentation.

Laminated magnets to reduce losses of the rotor

High Precision Fabrication

In addition to advanced laser-cut technologies, winders, and balancing methods, we can also integrate thermocouples, Wi-Fi temperature sensors, and magnetic field sensors into our machines. We also wrap motor rotors, and construct motors with laminated magnets, advanced magnetic materials, and electronic drives.

High Quality Assembly

We ensure high-quality assembly through precise fabrication and thorough inspections. Motor rotors are carefully balanced before shipping, and windings are double-checked to ensure they are damage-free. All motors comply with safety standards, making them safe for laboratory use.

Rigorous Testing and on time Delivery

After fabrication, each motor is tested on a dynamometer to verify it meets the required performance. We perform back EMF, thermal, vibration, locked rotor, and other tests before shipping the prototype to the customer. Test results, along with photographs, are compiled and provided to the customer.
